In October 2009, 16 year old Jacob Sakil was elected as the sixth Young Mayor of Lewisham.

His deputy is 16 year old Lola Mustapha.

In a closely fought election, Jacob just held off Lola to become Young Mayor but the greatest success of the night was a turnout of over 52%. Well done Lewisham!
