Ramal Royal

Young Mayor: Bristol

My name is Ramal Royal. I am 17 years old (as of the 26th of May) and I go to St Brendan’s sixth form college where I am in my first year of A-Levels. I live in one of the most deprived areas of the city, and this is mainly where my inspiration lies. I want to give young people in my community a voice and role model, showing them that despite my background and my severe dyslexia, with hard work anything is attainable.

What I plan to do while in office:

Whilst I am in office I am campaigning to get bus fares lowered in Bristol, especially for young people.  I want to get the minimum wage for under 18s in Bristol increased, and also want to change the media's negative perceptions of young people.
